He started playing in a band when he was in college, and then left music to teach English at junior high school, high school, and university. After that, he started his music career again. He has participated as a backing up singer in the live performances of Nicholas Edwards, a three-time winner of the World's Greatest Hits of the Year, and Mitsuo Iwata, a well-known voice actor. His song "Love is everything" as artist Kaz Kuwamura won the J-MELO AWARD on NHK WORLD's music program "J-MELO" Breakthrough Artist showcase, as voted by viewers. The song has been aired in more than 150 countries around the world.
Since 2018, Kaz has been active as a songwriter for Asian pop artists such as ITZY, Kis-My-Ft2, Super Tokyu, Yuya Tegoshi, Hinatazaka46, AKB48, Riyo Takahashi, Daiki Yamashita, Reina Washio, Yusuke, Dance of Philosophy, mahina, OverTone, ONE LOVE ONE HEART, and TV-CM Daiwa House D-ROOM, etc. Involved in music production and vocal production for many artists.
